The role:
The Accountant is responsible for managing key financial functions within the firm's Finance department, including management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance, trust account management and audit coordination.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of key financial outcomes. You will develop direct reports and drive process improvements, contributing to firm-wide projects that shape how our Finance function operates.
Your duties will include:
Lead the preparation of monthly financial results, budgets and forecasts, providing insightful analysis to support decision making.
Manage key financial accounting and compliance obligations, including annual reporting, audit, tax reconciliations, BAS and FBT.
Oversee trust and CMA accounting, ensuring transactions, reporting and compliance requirements are completed accurately and on time.
Support effective working capital management, including WIP, debtors, partner capital and cash flow targets.
Lead, coach and develop members of the Finance team while building strong relationships with partners and stakeholders across the firm.
Drive process improvement, innovation and technology initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Finance operations and reporting.
About You
You are a CA or CPA qualified finance professional with strong technical accounting capability and experience in a professional services environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating at both a strategic and hands-on level, you’ll bring sound commercial judgement, exceptional attention to detail and confidence working closely with senior stakeholders.
