Law Graduates 2027 (Priority Offer)
This ad is open to candidates who are eligible under the 2026 LIV priority offer requirements. Other applications will not be considered.
Great minds think differently
Arnold Bloch Leibler is renowned as the commercial law firm that clients turn to for advice and support on their most complex legal matters, high stakes transactions, disputes and commercial decisions.
As you would have seen during your clerkship, our client base is diverse. We are best known for our work with highly entrepreneurial businesses (ASX listed, and family owned) and high-wealth private clients, and our unparalleled public interest law practice.
We also advise international enterprises and individuals from the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East with interests in Australia and enjoy long-standing relationships with leading hedge funds, private equity firms, insolvency practitioners, accountants, private bankers and law firms across the globe.
The firm is at the cutting edge of law and its implications for businesses, individuals and Australian society as a whole. From our decades of leadership in native title and public interest matters, to advising on complex and high-profile commercial transactions and disputes, ABL drives innovation.
Great minds learn through experience
Having completed a clerkship with ABL, you’ve already experienced the quality of work, the depth of learning, and the unique culture that sets us apart. We are now inviting applications for our 2027 Graduate Program from those eligible under the LIV priority offer system.
Rather than moving departments through a rotation process, you'll join a practice area for 12 months, which means you’ll be treated as a permanent member of the team and will have opportunity to make a real and meaningful contribution. Your supervising partner will invest in your development and involve you in every aspect of their day-to-day matters. This immersive experience will see you working directly with clients from day one and attending court hearings. You will be exposed to a wide variety of legal work right across our practice areas.
Great minds enjoy a challenge
As you know our internal structure is different from our competitors. Our lawyers are trained to be ‘generalist specialists’ and are able to straddle a range of different legal problems, as opposed to simply specialising in a narrow field.
This approach requires the ability to think differently – you need to cover more ground and be attuned to a broader range of issues, regularly working with different teams and practitioners across the firm. The feedback from our lawyers is that, whilst more challenging, the satisfaction that comes from achieving outstanding outcomes on our clients’ most complex matters is rewarding. They say this approach propels their career development beyond what they imagined possible.
Great minds grow through learning
We are proud to offer a unique approach to graduate development, combining both a carefully curated in-house graduate program delivered by our partners which dovetails with our Practical Legal Training (PLT). Introduced in 2025, our program is both contemporary and integrated. It has been designed to ensure that as a law graduate, you will gain an exceptional foundation with hands-on experience and practical skills tailored to launch your legal career. Our in-house graduate training program will see you work with each practice area with the learning plan curated to complement and strengthen the foundations of our generalist specialist approach. All training is conducted on-site at ABL.
Our specialised approach sets us apart and is something our graduates truly value to equip them for their legal careers. Through this program, you will reach the exciting milestone of admission within the first 6-8 months of launching your career.

We welcome applications from our former seasonal clerks. Offers will be communicated to successful candidates on 4 August 2026, as per the Law Institute of Victoria’s Clerkship and Graduate Program Guidelines 2026.
Practice area allocations are subject to both your preferences and the firm’s business needs. That said, we endeavour to place our graduates in their first preference where possible. Should you be unsure about selecting a single practice area to join, we will work with you to identify the practice area that will see you thrive.
Our Graduate program begins in February 2027. Please let us know if you're interested in a Graduate position in our Sydney office which is an available option.
